Dear students, letter writing is
not too big a problem for you. You are familiar with its format. Above on the
left corner of the page, we begin with writing our own address, preferably
postal address. Next we write the address of the recipients below our own
address. This is followed by salutation (sir, dear sir, my dear friend
etc).then comes the body. In the end comes courtesies leave taking (yours
faithfully/yours sincerely/truly yours etc) followed by name and signature.
Since the new syllabus presents
the content of the letter in a varied manner, you need to concentrate on the
required content before initiating a letter.

about your organisation launching the campaign “grow more trees to save the
planet from global warming and ecological imbalance”. You have scheduled an

eminent environmentalists will be the main attraction of the programme. The
volunteers will be planting trees at a nearby open space will be by every means
a sentimental show. Sir, we want to know more and more about the domain of
activities of your NGO, and want to seek information about our expected role in
your NGO. We do very much, want to participate in the campaign, and to this
effect will be waiting your written response to this letter.

Sir,
This is to bring in your kind notice that the pedestrians in Srinagar city are
always seen not using subways. Due to this approach, host of problems have
cropped up. There are traffic jams on and off. Accidents happen quite often, and
the drivers always have to face the mess of unwanted crowds in the roads.
Sir, a dire need is felt
that the pedestrians be made aware about the rules of the roads, and also about
the consequences faced by them by avoiding walking on footpaths.
Sir, besides this, subways
be made clean and walkable. The garbage and the filth be cleaned, and the
stagnant water, if any, be treated on regular basis.
Sir, I hope you will highlight this matter through your esteemed
columns.
Thanks.
Yours sincerely

Sir,
I want to bring to your notice the
problems created by frequent traffic jams in the interiors of Srinagar city.
Except in the early ears of the morning, all the interiors routes of Srinagar
city witness heavy traffic jams lasting for hours together.
Sir, the students, owing to these
traffic jams, fail to be in time to their schools and colleges. Many times
patients die in the way to the hospitals because of this traffic mess. The
employees can’t make it on time to their offices and the laborers fail to report
their work places.
Sir, I want your newspaper,
impress upon the authorities to deploy traffic police on all the city routes,
and prepare a clear route map for streamlining the traffic. They may allow the
vehicles to use different routes for ferrying the passengers’.
Sir, we shall feel highly obliged
if this inconvenience to the general public is highlighted through the esteemed
columns of your paper, so that the concerned authorities are awakened to the
seriousness of the situation.
Yours truly
Shabir Ahmad
