Topic: ‘Is Social Networking Harmful For Students

Respected Guest of honour, dignified people in audience, Dear friends, The debate “is social networking harmful for the students”, is the burning topic of the day. I will try to count its harmful effects on students. Hope you will attest all that which I say over here.

Respected listeners: When we talk of the students, they have to be with books that too round the clock. In today’s cut throat competition a student needs to study at school, go for tutioning, arrange notes, go for extensive studies etc for making a place for himself. Thus today’s student can ill afford to compromise with time. He has to spent sleepless nights and burn midnight oil to carve a place for himself.

Respected listeners: Social networking is no doubt, a platform which brings the people of identical choices together to share their ideas and build their own mental culture .Today’s’ facebook, twitter, Micro blogging etc are readymade platforms for the students. They may be allured to them quite easily, but at the cost of what? Today if you and me meet at facebook, tomorrow we have to chat for hours together, day after tomorrow, I will have more friend requests. With out any mention of time, my friends will be online on different times, I will be updating my status and waiting them to comment, then the counter comment and the thread of comments will find no end. This all, by every means, feeds on the precious time which a student would, otherwise, spend on books. Now we find teenagers holding their cell phones in their hands, pressing their buttons, and updating the status for hours together.

Respected Listeners: Face book is the dominant social networking site. To my Knowledge, it has done good to none. People can ill afford to spread knowledge with it. Discussions Don’t find any roam at this site. It ,instead, is used as a source of entertainment . Youngsters upload photos and wait others to like them. Most of the users use false user names, and play false with others .Fake girl accounts are rampant on facebook, and youngsters keep on motivating them for live chats. What a mess is created on this Platform. This all is done by the youngsters at the altar of their precious time.

Respected Listeners: Youngsters should refrain from getting closer to facebook, twitter, micro blogging sites, and other chat rooms. Doing this can save their time. This way they can also keep their privacy intact. Facebook chatting does no good to a student, but if the same time is spent on syllabus books, he can make a big difference. He will harness his capabilities.

Respected Listeners: Why does police scan facebook accounts off and on? It is only because the law enforcing agencies know that these social networking sites are used to spread hatred, run campaigns, and plan crimes. Many criminals, in the past, were nabbed out by their facebook accounts. So, why should we share this platform.

Respected Listeners: I strongly affirm this claim that social networking sites are, but a menace, and none can spell out its benefits, because it has none.
