Analysis by Tariq Ahmad Malik.
A beautiful poem! It sweetens the tongue. Seems to explain how love makes a roam in the world of innocence uninviting. The poet seems to have experienced the wonder land of love in a unique way.
Unlike other poems, the speaker of this poem begins with accusing the companion of being a messenger of pain and faults.
Unlike other poems, the speaker of this poem begins with accusing the companion of being a messenger of pain and faults.
The speaker claims to have inherited the pain and the faults from her companion. She asks her companion why his skin is so feeble that it fails to hold the love-bird within, and lets it fly into the outer world to wander through the lanes of the speaker's heart. She asks the love-bird what compels it to leave its original nest and seek refuge under the roof of pain.
The speakers admits that her heart is an abode of pain, but takes no time to provide a twing for the love-bird to chatter upon. She is, however, apprehensive about the love-bird's fluttering on the desolated lanes in the dead of the night. She complains why does it make secratches on the heartless body and soul-less frame. The poet finally feels getting obssessed with love-bird's silent songs, and starts fondling it.She is anxious why does it consume itself by staying in the desert of the adversity. She visualises its heart being shattered into pieces every other moment, and pleads it to stop exploring the world of possible wonders any more.
The poem have a good feel. It takes the reader along. It helps him experience the helplessness of the human heart when it falls a silent prey to love.
